Traditional Breakfast Favorites
Many guests prefer a traditional American breakfast, and we aim to please. We will offer the meals described below as part of our standard menu or upon request. Various breakfast sandwiches will be on the mid-week menu, and there will also be weekend options.
Here are a few of the dishes that will be available and that we hope you will enjoy.
The Breakfast Croissant Sandwich
Scrambled Eggs and Biscuits
Scrambled Eggs, Spiced Chicken Sausage, Cheese Grits, Biscuits, Jam, Butter, and Orange Juice |
Breakfast Burrito
We experimented with homemade tortillas and a tortilla press is now on our shopping list. Ingredients may vary and there is definitely vegetarian fare available for this style dish.
Scrambled eggs, spicy natural pork sausage, peppers, onions, Mexican cheese blend, a side of refried beans and a fruit salad |
Waffles with Strawberries and Bananas
This would be one possible combination of sweet fruit topped Belgian waffles. We will have a variety on the "menu."
Crispy Belgian Waffle topped with fresh strawberries and bananas and lightly sprinkled with powdered sugar (or icing sugar if you're from Canada), with a side of fresh whipped cream and maple syrup. |
Biscuit University
Phyllis Cabe lovingly whipping up a large batch of biscuits at the Big Biscuit Barn, Rossville, GA |
In preparation for all things Southern, we attended a biscuit making class taught at the Big Biscuit Barn by biscuit master, Phyllis Cabe. Phyllis spent as much time sweetly sharing about her life, her motivational faith and why she loves doing what she does every day. The fun-loving group from our church that made up this class made the event even more enjoyable. We were dazzled by quick, simple, delightful recipes and baking tips. We sampled some of the biscuits that we made and took home a bunch more. The session was topped off with a wonderful chicken salad lunch and a delicious dessert. Some of the biscuit love and inspiration that we received there will surely end up in the biscuits we serve.
