OPEN THREE MONTHS "ANNIVERSARY"

A Few of our Great Guests!!

We’re now three months into Innkeeping, and we love it!  Our guests have been absolutely fantastic, and we have learned something from each and every one of them.  As I was walking the familiar trek from St Francis Cottage back home to our adjacent farmhouse, I reminisced about the fact that our visitors and guests have definitely made us better people and will continue to do so as our business grows.  So far, our SFC guests have come from the greater Nashville, Birmingham and Atlanta areas, along with wonderful folks from Florida, Texas, Michigan,  Ohio, and even Nebraska!  We already have return guests from Florida and Nashville, and we are so excited to revisit with these special people.  Particularly fun bookings have been couples within our own and nearby communities who have chosen to celebrate their anniversary getaways at St Francis Cottage.

Wallace and I are still working to fine-tune the details both inside and out, and finding new contacts to increase visibility in the B&B market.   We have a number of hospitals and assisted living facilities in our area, and we love giving tours and finding out how we can provide hospitality services to local businesses.  There’s never a dull moment and always something new and different to fill our days.  Life is very busy and GOOD, for which we are immensely thankful.

Bountiful rainfall has hit our area this summer, and what a difference from the severe drought that plagued Southeastern Tennessee last year.  All the good, natural rain is helping to establish the root systems of the hundreds of trees, shrubs and plants we planted over the past two years.  The hydrangea bushes have taken off and have produced balloon-sized flowers in all shades of blue, lavender and pink.  The herbs have quickly transformed from winter-sown seedlings to an herb jungle.  One perfect, fragrant bloom appeared today on our new Magnolia tree in the front circle, which was a beautiful kiss from God on our 38th wedding anniversary.

ALICE

We want to take this blog opportunity to introduce you to a new family member, Alice.  This little Pygmy goat is the friendliest, most laid-back yet curious creature we have ever known.  She is so very adorable!  The nice Georgia family from whom we purchased Alice has another little one, Oreo, who will be weaned in 3-4 weeks, and we have requested her as well.  This little munchkin brings life to the farm along with our four hens, three rabbits and elderly lab, Maggie.

Hannah, Grace and Amelia Cavey (Daughter and Grand Girls)

Our daughter Hannah and granddaughters Grace and Amelia have arrived from Canada, and we are beyond excited about spending fun days with them and building Beeps and Grammy memories.  We love and miss our kids and grandkids, and cherish every minute we can spend with them.
